PENGARUH STATUS SOSIAL EKONOMI ORANG TUA TERHADAP MOTIVASI MELANJUTKAN PENDIDIKAN KE PERGURUAN TINGGI DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SEBAGAI VARIABEL MEDIATOR PADA SMAN 2 SEI LALA

Abstrak

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh positif dan signifikan lingkungan, status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap motivasi melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi secara langsung dan tidak langsung melalui prestasi belajar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMAN 2 SEI LALA yang berjumlah 174 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan aplikasi G*Power yang kemudian diperoleh sampel sebanyak 82 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan dokumentasi dan angket. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis path. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status sosial ekonomi orang tua berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis jalur, prestasi belajar dapat memediasi pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi, namun prestasi belajar menunjukkan hasil partial mediation. Hasil penelitian diatas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa status sosial ekonomi orang tua berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi melalui prestasi belajar.

The purpose of this study was to examine the positive and significant influence of the environment, the socio-economic status of parents on the motivation to continue education to college directly and indirectly through learning achievement. The population of this study was all students of SMAN 2 SEI LALA totaling 174 students. The sampling technique used the G * Power application which then obtained a sample of 82 students. The data collection method used documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis method used was descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results of the study showed that the socio-economic status of parents had a positive and significant effect on the motivation to continue education to college. Based on the results of the path analysis, learning achievement can mediate the influence of the socio-economic status of parents on the interest in continuing education to college, but learning achievement shows partial mediation results. The results of the study above, it can be concluded that the socio-economic status of parents has a positive and significant effect on the motivation to continue education to college through learning achievement.
