OR”. kata kunci termasuk: “Warm Water Foot Bath Therapy” OR “foot Massage” OR “reflexiology” AND “Hypertension” AND “Elderly” AND “Randomised Control” OR “Clinical Trial”.
Introduction: Hypertension in the elderly poses significant challenges and risks, with a high prevalence among this demographic group. Factors influencing the incidence of hypertension in the elderly include behaviors such as smoking, salt consumption, coffee intake, and physical activity levels, highlighting the importance of a holistic approach that involves community participation in managing these conditions. Non-pharmacological interventions play an important role in managing hypertension in the elderly population. Lifestyle modifications such as dietary changes, increased physical activity, weight loss, limited alcohol consumption, and stress-reducing techniques such as Yoga, Acupuncture, and chi have been shown to be effective in lowering blood pressure. Warm foot bath therapy also has evidence of effectiveness in lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Objective : To determine and analyze the effectiveness of warm water foot bath therapy in lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Method: The Literature study used search engine databases, namely Google Scholar, Sciencedirect, and Pubmed with article publications ranging from 2017-2024. The literature search strategy involves keywords related to the topic and the title of the research using the standard Boolean Operators "AND" and "OR". Keywords included: "Warm Water Foot Bath Therapy" OR "foot Massage" OR "reflexiology" AND "Hypertension" AND "Elderly" AND "Randomised Control" OR "Clinical Trial". Results: 10 articles were obtained that showed the effect of warm water foot soaking therapy in lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Conclusion: Warm water foot bath therapy carried out over a certain period of time can effectively lower blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension.
