Abstrak

Introduction: The Patient-Centered Care system demands that nurses possess proficient skills or competencies. Nursing competencies are cultivated through education. Therefore, nursing education programs should provide effective education to enhance nurses' skills. Virtual Reality technology can provide effective education to improve nursing skills by simulating cases, offering learning experiences that are hazardous or impossible to simulate in the real world. Objective: To provide an overview and conclusions from the literature review on the impact of Virtual Reality on nursing skills. Methods: This study utilized a literature review method with the PRISMA approach. Literature reviews were conducted on 10 selected articles through an Online Database search, namely: Clinical Key Nursing, Science Direct, Proquest, and Google Scholar in 2023 using the keywords Virtual Reality, and Nursing Skills. Results: Out of 10 articles reviewed, 5 articles indicated a positive impact of Virtual Reality on enhancing nursing skills, 1 article indicated heightened awareness, and 1 article reflected an improved nursing attitude. Meanwhile, 3 articles revealed no significant impact or difference. Recommendations: It is hoped that future research can explore the extent of the effectiveness of Virtual Reality in enhancing nursing skills.
