PERANAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI PEDAGOGIK GURU PAI DI SMPN 4 SIDOARJO

Abstrak

Education is one of the main pillars that help human civilization. Human learn everything that is not yet known through education. Quality education is inseparable from profesionalteachers who have competence. One way to improve teacher competency is through the school principal. Because the principal has an important role in improving the quality of education in this school. This is intended to find out how the role of the school principal is in increasing teacher compertence, both from the program and the efforts made by the principal in improving the competence of this teachers. This research was conducted at SMPN 4 Sidoarjo, with the principal and teacher as which research objects. To achieve the above objectives, this research uses a qualitative approach presents this type of research descriptively, using data collection techniques through the following methods: 1. Observation 2. Interview 3. Documentation. The results of the study show that (1) the principal at SMPN 4 is able to play a good role in accordance with their duties, (2) the principal at SMPN 4 Sidoarjo is able to increase the productivity of the performance of teachers and employees at SMPN 4 Sidoarjo: (3) the obstacles are the school principal in improving teacher competence SMPN 4 Sidoarjo, namely the impact of the old leadership resulted in a lack of increased teacher competence, including mobilizing human resources through teacher training, holding teacher empowerment, providing motivation, participating in workshop training, and adding IT facilities and infrastructure.
