UPAYA PELAYANAN SOSIAL REHABILITASI BERSUMBERDAYA MASYARAKAT GEREJA KRISTEN PROTESTAN SIMALUNGUN (RBM GKPS) PEMATANG SIANTAR DALAM MENINGKATKAN KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL PARA PENYANDANG DISABILITAS

Abstrak

People with disabilities are people who experience limitations for a long time, in interacting experience obstacles and difficulties to participate fully and effectively with the surrounding environment. There is a lot of negative stigma against people with disabilities that makes them worse. The privileges that should be honed to become enthusiasm for them actually become a downturn for them. Seeing this negative stigma view, both the government and private institutions try their best so that the rights and equality of people with disabilities are the same as society in general. One of these institutions is the Community Resource Rehabilitation of the Simalungun Protestant Christian Church Pematang Siantar which has been established since 2015. As a form of social service efforts carried out by RBM GKPS, it not only provides care for people with disabilities but also provides empowerment through programs that have been designed. The purpose of this research is to find out how the form of social service efforts for Community Resource Rehabilitation of the Simalungun Protestant Christian Church (RBM GKPS) Pematang Siantar in improving the social welfare of people with disabilities. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research in which research data collection techniques are in the form of collecting information in the form of documents, and photos. Based on the results of research that has been conducted, it is concluded that the social service efforts of RBM GKPS Pematang Siantar in improving the welfare of people with disabilities consist of work development programs, mental development, spiritual development, self-development and non-formal education programs for people with disabilities.
