PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA MATERI PERKALIAN DAN PEMBAGIAN MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH (PBL) DI KELAS IV MI NURUL MUN’IM

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV MI Nurul Mun’im pada materi perkalian dan pembagian melalui penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart, dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 25 siswa kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pemecahan masalah, observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru, serta catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dari pra-siklus ke siklus I dan II. Rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat dari 58,4 (pra-siklus), menjadi 71,6 (siklus I), dan 85,2 (siklus II). Penerapan PBL efektif meningkatkan kemampuan memahami masalah, merancang strategi, melakukan perhitungan, dan memberikan justifikasi solusi.

This study aims to improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of fourth-grade students at MI Nurul Mun’im on multiplication and division topics through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using the Kemmis and McTaggart model in two cycles. The subjects were 25 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through problem-solving tests, observations, and field notes. The results showed that students’ problem-solving abilities increased from pre-cycle to cycle I and II. The average scores improved from 58.4 (pre-cycle) to 71.6 (cycle I) and 85.2 (cycle II). The implementation of PBL effectively enhanced students’ abilities in understanding problems, designing strategies, performing calculations, and providing solution justification. Thus, problem-based learning is considered an effective strategy to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities.
