Bencana alam merupakan fenomena yang sering terjadi di Indonesia dan berdampak signifikan terhadap penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Kerusakan sarana prasarana, terganggunya proses pembelajaran, serta menurunnya kinerja pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan menjadi tantangan utama pendidikan pasca bencana. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan Total Quality Management (TQM) sebagai pendekatan penjaminan mutu pendidikan dalam konteks pasca bencana alam. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan terhadap buku dan jurnal ilmiah yang membahas manajemen mutu pendidikan dan kebencanaan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip TQM, seperti fokus pada peserta didik, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah/madrasah, keterlibatan seluruh warga sekolah, perbaikan berkelanjutan, serta pengambilan keputusan berbasis data, relevan diterapkan dalam upaya pemulihan dan peningkatan mutu pendidikan pasca bencana. Penerapan TQM berkontribusi pada terciptanya lembaga pendidikan yang tangguh, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan.
Natural disasters are a frequent occurrence in Indonesia and have a significant impact on education. Damage to infrastructure, disruption to the learning process, and a decline in the performance of educators and educational staff are the main challenges facing education in the aftermath of a disaster. This article aims to examine the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) as an approach to quality assurance in education in the context of post-natural disasters. The method used is a literature study of Indonesian books and scientific journals that discuss quality management in education and disasters. The results of the study show that TQM principles, such as a focus on students, leadership of school/madrasah principals, involvement of the entire school community, continuous improvement, and data-based decision making, are relevant to be applied in efforts to restore and improve the quality of education after a disaster. The application of TQM contributes to the creation of resilient, adaptive, and sustainable educational institutions.
