Abstrak

Entering the workforce is a major challenge for final-year university students. One crucial aspect of readiness is perceived future employability, which refers to an individual's perception of their ability to secure employment in the future. This study aims to examine the relationship between career adaptability and perceived future employability among final-year students at Universitas Negeri Padang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 379 students who were completing their theses were selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) and the Perceived Future Employability Scale (PFES). Data analysis was conducted using Spearman Rank Correlation due to the non-normal distribution of data. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between career adaptability and perceived future employability. These findings highlight the importance of developing adaptive career skills to better prepare students for the labor market.

Memasuki dunia kerja merupakan tantangan utama bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Salah satu aspek penting dalam kesiapan tersebut adalah perceived future employability, yaitu persepsi individu mengenai kemampuannya memperoleh pekerjaan di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara career adaptability dengan perceived future employability pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sampel berjumlah 379 mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun skripsi, dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) dan skala perceived future employability (PFES). Analisis data menggunakan Spearman Rank Correlation karena data tidak terdistribusi normal. Hasil menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara career adaptability dan perceived future employability. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya pengembangan kemampuan adaptif dalam membantu mahasiswa menghadapi dunia kerja.
