PERSEPSI MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PERPUSTAKAAN DAN ILMU INFORMASI (PII) ANGKATAN 2021 TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN BLACKBOX AI DALAM PROSES TINJAUAN ARTIKEL JURNAL

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Ilmu Informasi (PII) angkatan 2021 Universitas Negeri Padang terhadap penggunaan Blackbox AI dalam proses tinjauan artikel jurnal. Penggunaan teknologi AI seperti Blackbox AI dalam bidang penelitian dan penulisan ilmiah semakin umum, namun pemahaman tentang bagaimana mahasiswa merespons teknologi ini masih perlu dikaji lebih lanjut. Metode penelitian menggunakan survei online kepada 92 mahasiswa PII angkatan 2021 untuk mengumpulkan data tentang pengalaman, persepsi, dan tantangan yang dihadapi saat menggunakan Blackbox AI dalam tinjauan artikel jurnal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan Blackbox AI untuk membantu dalam proses tinjauan artikel jurnal, terutama dalam aspek efisiensi waktu dan kemudahan analisis konten. Mahasiswa juga mengapresiasi kemampuan Blackbox AI dalam membantu mengidentifikasi tema utama dan struktur artikel. Namun, beberapa mahasiswa juga mengungkapkan kekhawatiran terkait akurasi hasil analisis yang dihasilkan oleh AI serta potensi ketergantungan yang berlebihan pada teknologi ini. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Blackbox AI dapat menjadi alat bantu yang efektif dalam proses tinjauan artikel jurnal bagi mahasiswa PII, dengan catatan perlu adanya pengawasan dan pemahaman yang baik tentang keterbatasan teknologi.

This study aims to explore the perceptions of students from the Library and Information Science (PII) Study Program, class of 2021 Padang State University, regarding the use of Blackbox AI in the process of reviewing journal articles. The use of AI technologies such as Blackbox AI in research and academic writing is becoming increasingly common; however, there is still a need to examine how students respond to this technology. The research employed an online survey involving 92 PII students to collect data on their experiences, perceptions, and challenges when using Blackbox AI for article reviews. The results indicate that most students have a positive perception of using Blackbox AI, particularly in terms of time efficiency and ease of content analysis. Students also appreciated the tool’s ability to help identify the main themes and structure of articles. However, some students expressed concerns about the accuracy of the AI-generated analysis and the potential for over-reliance on the technology. This study concludes that Blackbox AI can be an effective assistive tool in the journal article review process for PII students, provided there is proper oversight and understanding of the technology’s limitations.
