The discussion is conducted to provide prospective teachers with an understanding of the importance of applying psychological theories in the learning process at the elementary education level. The results of the study indicate that each student has different cognitive, emotional, and social characteristics, therefore teachers need to apply learning approaches that are appropriate to children’s developmental stages. In addition, learning psychology theories provide important contributions in helping teachers design effective, active, and meaningful learning processes.
