If the calculation is greater (>) than t_table at a significance level of 1-0.05 with dk= n – 2 then the hypothesis is accepted and in other cases it is rejected. By analyzing the narrative of Naboth’s vineyard being seized by Ahab and Jezebel, the study highlights the collusion of legal legitimacy, religious symbols, and political power to oppress the marginalized. A contextual hermeneutic approach is employed to draw parallels between the biblical narrative and modern-day land grabbing, legal manipulation, and corporate extractivism under neoliberal frameworks. The study reveals that the story of Naboth contains strong prophetic and ethical dimensions relevant to today’s faith communities. It emphasizes that legality does not equate to justice, and prophetic voices are still necessary to challenge oppressive systems. This article calls the Church to engage in prophetic action against economic dominance that dehumanizes both people and creation. Elevating the voice of the biblical text as a counter-narrative to dominant ideologies, the article contributes to a transformative and contextual public theology.
Beatus Celvinsantius Riwu Rau Mario Laurensius C.
