PENGAJARAN TENTANG FINALITAS KE-TUHANAN YESUS KRISTUS DAN APLIKASINYA BAGI KEYAKINAN KRISTEN DI TENGAH MASYARAKAT MAJEMUK

Abstrak

Tulisan ini membahas tentang Finalitas Ketuhanan Yesus dalam konteks masyarakat plural di Indonesia. Keyakinan bahwa Kristus adalah satu-satunya jalan keselamatan merupakan inti dari iman Kristen, dimana keyakinan itu mengandung pemahaman bahwa Yesus Kristus adalah Tuhan dan Juru Selamat satu-satunya. Namun, dalam masyarakat majemuk, keyakinan semacam  ini kerap dipandang sebagai sikap eksklusif, intoleran, bahkan radikal. Karena itu peneliti mencoba melihat bagaimana menerapkan pengajaran tentang keTuhanan Yesus ini bisa diaplikasikan dalam konteks masyarakat plural. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi literatur untuk menelusuri dasar teologis finalitas Kristus dan implikasinya terhadap kehidupan sosial umat Kristen. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengakuan terhadap keilahian Yesus tidak seharusnya dipahami sebagai penolakan terhadap keberagaman, melainkan sebagai panggilan untuk mewujudkan kasih Allah yang inklusif di tengah pluralitas. Finalitas Kristus bersifat eksklusif dalam hal keselamatan (soteriologis), tetapi inklusif dalam praktik kasih, perdamaian, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Dengan demikian, iman kepada Yesus Kristus yang final justru menjadi dasar bagi umat Kristen untuk hidup rukun, penuh kasih, dan berkontribusi positif dalam masyarakat majemuk.

This paper discusses the Finality of the Divinity of Jesus within the context of a pluralistic society in Indonesia. The belief that Christ is the only way to salvation is the core of the Christian faith, which includes the understanding that Jesus Christ is the one and only Lord and Savior. However, in a plural society, such a conviction is often perceived as exclusive, intolerant, or even radical. Therefore, this study seeks to explore how the teaching about the divinity of Christ can be applied within the context of a pluralistic community. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study approach to examine the theological foundation about the finality of Christ  and its implications for the social life of Christians. The findings reveal that acknowledging the divinity of Jesus should not be seen as a rejection of diversity but as a call to embody God’s inclusive love within pluralism. The finality of Christ is exclusive in the realm of salvation (soteriological) but inclusive in its expression of love, peace, and social responsibility. Therefore, a firm faith in the finality of Jesus Christ becomes the foundation for Christians to live harmoniously, lovingly, and to contribute positively to a plural society.
