PERTOBATAN EKOLOGIS DAN PERAN GEREJA KEUSKUPAN RUTENG: REFLEKSI ENSIKLIK LAUDATO SI’ TERHADAP PROYEK GEOTHERMAL POCO LEOK

Abstrak

This article aims to explain the concept of ecological conversion according to the Encyclical Laudato Si’ in responding to the issue of the geothermal project that occurred in Poco Leok, Manggarai. According to this Encyclical, the universe is God's creation with the aim of mutual complementarity among fellow creatures. Nature is a common home that must be maintained for the creation of universal community in God. Ecological problems such as the geothermal project taking place in Poco Leok are a violation of the integrity of the common home and the communion of all creation. Affirming the contents of the Encyclical Laudato Si’, the Ruteng Diocese Church together with the Poco Leok community are trying to fight for the rights of the people who feel disadvantaged by the presence of this project. Apart from that, the Church of the Ruteng Diocese also continues to call for ecological repentance for the entire community in order to return to communion with the universe, specifically for the fellowship of God's people in the Diocese of Ruteng.
