PENGARUH PERAN GURU AGAMA KATOLIK TERHADAP TINGKAT TANGGUNG JAWAB SISWA DI SMA NEGERI 1 TITEHENA

Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pembinaan karakter tanggung jawab siswa sebagai salah satu tujuan pendidikan. Dalam proses pembinaan tersebut, guru Agama Katolik memiliki peran strategis sebagai pendidik, pembimbing, motivator, dan teladan bagi peserta didik. Namun, tingkat tanggung jawab siswa yang beragam menunjukkan perlunya kajian mengenai pengaruh peran guru Agama Katolik terhadap pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peran guru Agama Katolik terhadap tingkat tanggung jawab siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Titehena. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 422 siswa SMA Negeri 1 Titehena. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 205 siswa yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Selain itu, 55 guru dilibatkan sebagai informan untuk memberikan konfirmasi dan wawancara terkait penilaian tanggung jawab siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan wawancara. Instrumen penelitian telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, dengan seluruh item pernyataan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji normalitas, regresi linear sederhana, uji t, dan koefisien determinasi (R²) dengan bantuan Microsoft Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan memenuhi syarat untuk analisis lebih lanjut. Analisis regresi linear sederhana menghasilkan persamaan Y = 1,156921X yang menunjukkan bahwa peran guru Agama Katolik berpengaruh positif terhadap tingkat tanggung jawab siswa. Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai t_hitung sebesar 54,69306 lebih besar daripada t_tabel sebesar 2,0106 pada taraf signifikansi 5%, sehingga hipotesis penelitian diterima. Hasil koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,982591 atau 98,25% menunjukkan bahwa peran guru Agama Katolik memberikan pengaruh yang sangat kuat terhadap tingkat tanggung jawab siswa, sedangkan sebesar 1,75% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran guru Agama Katolik berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap tingkat tanggung jawab siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Titehena. Oleh karena itu, guru Agama Katolik perlu terus mengoptimalkan perannya dalam membimbing, mendidik, memotivasi, dan memberikan teladan kepada siswa. Sekolah juga diharapkan mendukung berbagai program pembinaan karakter secara berkelanjutan guna meningkatkan tanggung jawab peserta didik baik dalam lingkungan sekolah maupun kehidupan sehari-hari

This research is motivated by the importance of fostering student responsibility character as one of the educational goals. In the coaching process, Catholic teachers have a strategic role as educators, guides, motivators, and role models for students. However, the varying levels of student responsibility indicate the need to study the influence of the role of Catholic teachers on the formation of student responsibility character. Therefore, this study aims to determine the influence of the role of Catholic teachers on the level of student responsibility at SMA Negeri 1 Titehena. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research population was 422 students of SMA Negeri 1 Titehena. The research sample of 205 students was determined using the Slovin formula. In addition, 55 teachers were involved as informants to provide confirmation and interviews related to the assessment of student responsibility. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and interviews. The research instrument has been tested for validity and reliability, with all statement items declared valid and reliable. Data analysis was carried out using normality tests, simple linear regression, t-test, and determination coefficients (R²) with the help of Microsoft Excel. The results of the study showed that the data were normally distributed and qualified for further analysis. Simple linear regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 1.156921X which shows that the role of Catholic teachers has a positive effect on the level of student responsibility. The results of the t-test showed that the t_hitung value of 54.69306 was greater than the t_tabel of 2.0106 at a significance level of 5%, so the research hypothesis was accepted. The result of the determination coefficient (R²) of 0.982591 or 98.25% showed that the role of Catholic teachers had a very strong influence on the level of student responsibility, while 1.75% was influenced by other factors that were not studied. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of Catholic teachers has a positive and significant effect on the level of student responsibility at SMA Negeri 1 Titehena. Therefore, Catholic teachers need to continue to optimize their role in guiding, educating, motivating, and setting an example for students. Schools are also expected to support various character development programs in an ongoing manner to increase students' responsibilities both in the school environment and in daily life
