Abstrak

This research is motivated by the minimal use of IT facilitated by schools by teachers in creating creative learning media that keeps up with the times. In other words, there is still a lack of development of innovative and fun media for students and there is no development of technology-based learning media. So teachers need to improve and utilize facilities in creating learning media. The Discovery Learning model has never been used to use learning media, especially technology-based ones. Based on these problems, this research aims to develop science learning media in the form of comics using the Canva Application with the Discovery Learning Model in Class IV Elementary Schools that is valid, practical and effective. The results of the learning media research obtained a validity level of 93.7% from the material aspect in the very valid category, 100% from the language aspect in the very valid category, and 95.8% from the media aspect in the very valid category. Furthermore, the results of the practicality test of teacher responses at the trial school were 93.7% and the practicality percentage of student responses was 93%. The percentage of practicality test results of teacher responses at the first research school was 95.4% and the percentage of student responses was 95.1% in the very practical category and at the second research school the practicality results of teacher responses were 90.9% and the percentage of practicality of student responses was 90. 4%. And the results of the learning media effectiveness test showed an increase in school trials, namely from 75% to 90.8%. And at the first research school the results of the effectiveness test also increased, namely 79.9%, increasing to 91.1% in the very effective category. And at the second research school, the results of the effectiveness test also increased, namely from 69.6% to 87.3% in the very valid category. Thus it can be concluded that science learning media in the form of comics using the Canva Application with the Discovery Learning Model in class IV elementary school can be declared valid, practical and effective for use in the learning process.
